Hello, I’m Rupali. I am a photographer based in the Washington, D.C. area!

About Me

I got my first camera when I was 15, for a photography course in high school. I gradually fell in love with capturing movement and moments. As a classically trained dancer, I’ve always seen the beauty in the world around me. My passion for photography stemmed from my passion for dance.  I started taking pictures of my mom while she practiced and small dance shows in my community.

When I got to college, I joined Humans of Virginia Tech, where I was able to connect with everyday people who had extraordinary stories. I remember taking portraits of a girl from my dance team, and we talked for hours and bonded in just one night. And now she’s one of my best friends! That’s what I think photography is, capturing moments that make life brighter and happier.

Now as an adult fully immersed in the real world, I understand that everything may seem chaotic and crazy. As your photographer, I will be there to help create your happy moment. I will help you see the beauty that you have always had in you. And I guarantee that you will have memories to last you a lifetime!

I absolutely love chocolate and thin mints. Unfortunately, I have a chocolate intolerance that makes me allergic!

I love painting and drawing. My favorite medium is acrylic and graphite!

I am always at Barnes & Noble and reading, so if you have a good book recommendation, send it my way :)

My two main favorite foods are cereal (specifically Fruity Pebbles) and pasta!

I’ve been learning Kathak (a classical Indian dance) for the past 20 years and can’t imagine my life without it

I am a people person, making connections and socializing is something I truly enjoy.
